This Policy describes how WaterfowlAI, Inc. ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and protects information through the WingID Research Portal during the California Pilot Program.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
- Account Information (name, email, institution)
- Uploaded wing images and metadata
- Usage logs and activity data
- Device and IP information
- Optional location (region or county)
HOW WE USE DATA
- Provide and improve the Portal and AI models
- Train and validate WaterfowlAI systems
- Monitor compliance and prevent misuse
- Communicate with participants
- Support conservation research
DATA SHARING
We do not sell personal information.
Shared only with: CWA, CSU/UC Davis research teams, and secure service providers under confidentiality agreement.
Aggregated and anonymized data may be used in scientific reports or publications with proper attribution.
DATA RETENTION
- Account data retained through pilot period.
- Raw images deleted upon institutional request.
- Anonymized and trained model data retained indefinitely by WaterfowlAI.
- Audit logs kept for security and legal compliance.
YOUR RIGHTS
- Request access or correction of personal information.
- Request deletion (subject to research requirements).
- Withdraw from the pilot at any time.
SECURITY
- Encrypted storage and data transport.
- Access controls and activity monitoring.
- Regular penetration testing and incident response.
